Now this is a start.  Utilization of self driving vehicles for transportation of people and goods.  It will go from transporting people to transporting goods.

 

And from there, go from bulk people/goods to individuals.

 

Maybe not with magnets everywhere.  The guess is that software and video recognition systems will be able to do as good a job, without the need to do more improvements to the road system infrastructure.  If that is achievable, then we could see these roll out in many places.  Probably first in areas that are constrained in space.  Within the US, that would be the large metro areas.  Internationally, it would be island nations, and large congested metropolitan areas.  Beijing, London, Hong Kong, etc.

 

The era of the taxi driver might be coming to an end.
