MAVA kickoff luncheon

The September is here, and the season is starting.

The kickoff lunch was the beginning for networking events, meetings, catching up, and promises to meet up on the golf course before the weather got too cold and damp.

The speakers were folks using technology in politics. One on the right the other from the left.  And while we are inside the beltway, and our neighbors are mostly working for the local company (the federal government), this wasn't the most astute topic for the industry.  It was fun.

Around here, on a presidential election year, things go crazy.  In the final time after the conventions and before the elections, the insanity gets higher.  It infects the investor industry, and everyone around.

The Freddie/Fannie situation, the larger economic picture, all influence investors.  It seemed like folks were still settling into the grove of being back in town.

With all the shocks that the broader financials have had, this is going to be an interesting season.
