It was the annual kickoff event last night for MAVA.

 

Quite a crowd was there, even though the event competed against the Republican Convention, and the first NFL game of the year.  And the local Redskins team playing that night.

 

Weather was great, networking and catching up for folks who had not seen eachother for most of the summer.  Several stories on where people went to vacation, other tales of deals done while everyone else was away.

 

Not much doom and gloom at the party.  But I wonder once in a while, if everyone can get in on the good deals.  Or where the niches are going to be.   The region is quite a bit more collegial than some others.  Folks are willing to help eachother out, knowing that we can't possibly get to all the great deals on our own.

 

I was able to tap Julia Spicer, the head of MAVA for a little bit.  I want to see if anything can be done between MAVA and MITEF.

 

All in all, it was a nice evening to launch a new season.
