Cooley Godward Kronish Reston office anniversary celebration
Last night was Cooley's anniversary celebration, it had been delayed from earlier this summer. As it was on the same day as MAVA's launch luncheon, some folks seemed to choose one or the other to network at. The firm did invite a lot of their clients, and there was some overlap with the folks at lunch, but not much. Ran into some other investors who were just back from their summer activities. Other folks needed to skip out early to deal with back-to-school events for their kids.
Overall, a different mix of folks. Carl Grant has become one of the go to guys in the region for young start-ups, and his efforts have been a big part in keeping Cooley invovled in the local entrepreneur scene.
It was a fun party, but like every event, a lot of networking/catching up was going on. I ran into Ed Broenniman, his daughter and I graduated from the same class in CMU. Ed's been doing his thing with Piedmont Group for a while in the DC area.
That and several other folks I managed to talk to over the evening.
Sometimes this job can be a lot of fun.
