VC hunting grounds expand

Once in a while, you get the USA Today with an article on VC investors.  This one is how VC investors are starting to range far and wide.

Tech investors are moving out of silicon valley and going into cleantech.  Or going overseas and no longer limiting themselves to a 15 minutes drive from the office.

He does state some important points.

The VC returns for a 400 mil fund mean you need 1.2 bil in order to get a great IRR.

The fact that some VCs have never made money in their funds.

and the idea that the fund universe is going to shrink back to 1980's type of numbers.

I don't agree with all of these, but they do all bear noting.

Things are changing in the VC world.  When it's apparent to the USAtoday, it should be obvious to most folks in the industry.
