There's the next wave of cleantech investors representing a lot more money that was around 5 years ago.  Also a lot more deals that were are on the margins got financed in the past couple of years.  Some were good hits, others great misses.

 

But folks are betting on both ends.  There should be short sellers, and there should be people investing in the long side of the technology.   There will be volatility and with the chance for success is the right to fail. 

 

Lots of bets will be made, lots of companies started.  Eventually we'll find the best ones.  But until then, it will be skill, determination, luck and education that will separate the wheat from the chaff.
