Twin Tech in DC - 700 people
Last night the Twin Tech event was held in DC.
It was a meeting between the old-line tech industry and the new web 2.0/social network folks.
Zach Goldfarb was there, and acknowledged it was one of his ideas to bring greater connectivity to the DC area, and was happy about the event being held.
I talked with Bob Nelson at crossmine.com and it took only a few weeks to get the thing together.
They had over 700 folks sign up before the event. There was an overflow list.
Mind you, this is in DC, in the middle of July. DC was/is a swamp. It wasn't pleasant outside, and this event attracted 700 folks together all at the same time.
A very impressive number. And you could see by the sheer number of 3G iphones floating around that some of these folks really believed in the *something*.
I had the opportunity to meet several entrepreneurs, and introduce the MIT Enterprise forum to a new batch of folks, as well as remind myself how difficult it is to launch a new company, when you don't have all the contacts and connections to make life easier.
I think there will be more events of this nature, and that the DC area
